CITY OF STOW COMMUNITY PARKS: Adell Durbin Park Arboretum: DIRECTIONS: Adell Durbin Park is located on State Route 91 just south of State Route 59. The lodges are located around the perimeter of the parking area. In addition to its park facilities, Adell Durbin Park has many educational benefits as an arboretum. Self-guided trails of varying distances are available year round. The three trails are: Hiker's Trail (Red Arrows) 1.2 miles Tree and Shrub Trail (Yellow Arrows) .8 mile Cliff Trail (Blue Arrows) .6 mile To encourage self-guidance, trees and shrubs are marked with tags and correspond to a Trail Guide provided at the park. Trail Guides may be obtained from the storage box affixed to the rules sign facing the parking lot or at Stow City Hall. This park includes a playground with swings and a modular play set, a picnic area as well as an open play area, newly renovated tennis courts, restrooms and the Harold Welch Nature Center which is located west of the tennis courts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meadow Lake Park This park contains a 19-acre lake located in the Meadowbrook Lake allotment in the Northwestern part of the City. The lake is available for use by the public with public access off of Hudson Drive, or a small park on Mac Drive and Meadowbrook Blvd. The lake is surrounded by private residences, but fishing is permitted off the public access areas. Boating is also permitted, but a permit must be obtained from the Parks and Recreation office by calling (330) 688-8238. Swimming by the public is strictly forbidden. There is also a play area, picnic area and basketball courts available. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silver Springs Park 5027 Stow Road This is the largest park in Stow located in the northern section of the city. It covers approximately 280 acres of land and offers numerous recreation facilities to the citizens. These facilities include two lighted tennis courts, two lighted basketball courts, Jack E. Wilkinson horseshoe courts, Youth and Adult Gardens, bike and hike trails, soccer fields, shaded picnic areas with picnic tables and an assortment of charcoal grills and three open play areas. Also located at Silver Springs Park in the Swim Lake/Pavilion which is a 3-acre spring fed lake that is open to the public for the summer season. A general admission is charged to use the facility which contains a diving dock, sandy beach, modern swim pavilion, water play equipment, a concession stand and a volleyball sand court. Among the many amenities of the Stow Park System there is a small campground operation nestled in the eastern portion of Silver Springs Park. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oregon Trail Park This 17-acre park, which was formerly Stow Family Y.M.C.A., became a City park in November, 1981. This park has a variety of facilities which include five ball fields, a meeting room, concession stands, restrooms, and is programmed by the Western Reserve "Y".
