Grotto Falls Hiking Trail Pictures and MovieGrotto Falls Trail is just South of Gatlinburg and located off the Southeastern section of The Roaring Fork Nature Motor Trail. I filmed Vistas as I drove the road.
The hike is 2.4 miles roundtrip and is surrounded by hemlock dominated forest. I filmed the largest of the hemlock trees as I hiked up the trail. There were numerous cascading waterfalls over and around the trail. There were a few hikers here on a Monday afternoon so I knew this was a popular trail. The vista were beautiful when I could see through the old growth forest. The roaring cascades grew louder as I knew I was close. Now water seeped out of the green mosses and ferns near Grotto Falls Trail. Finally I came across the falls. I enjoyed walking under the falls. Grotto Falls Trail is distinctive as the only waterfall in the park one can walk behind. I filmed this treasure as it roared over me. Another great memory. Below are hiking pictures in order showing the hike to Grotto Falls. |
